In Windows, the date appears just below the clock in the taskbar’s lower-right corner. The date and time symbols are generally reliable, however, sometimes these icons don’t show up. They may vanish totally from the Pc taskbar or stay out of sight until the mouse is placed over them. In this article, I will explain how to show the date in your taskbar on Windows 10.
How to show the date in the taskbar on Windows 10
Below are the step-by-step methods to display the date on Windows 10 taskbar
Method 1: Adjust the Tablet’s Settings
If you use your Desktop pc in tablet mode, the system clock may vanish from your taskbar.
Moving ahead, you can either disable tablet mode entirely or modify its options to restore the date displays. This can be done as follows:
Step 1: First, press the Windows key + I to access the Settings menu, then click System.
Step2: Locate Tablet in the menu on the left.
Step 3: To modify other tablet preferences, tap the Change additional tablet settings button.
Step 4: Turn off the options to Automatically hide the taskbar and Hide app icons on the taskbar.
You will see the date icon on the Windows 10 taskbar once again.
Method 2: Adjust the clock settings panel:
If the time has suddenly disappeared from the taskbar, it could be because you or some user disabled the feature in the system’s preferences. It’s also possible that the problem occurred from the most recent Windows upgrade. Just follow the steps given to reset the date in your taskbar.
Step 1: Open Windows Settings, then select the Personalization tab.
Step 2: Then, in this tab, navigate to the Taskbar.
Step 3: Find the option to “Turn system icons on or off” and select it.
Step 4: Now, turn on the Clock settings panel. If it is on, try turning it off and back on again.
Step 5: Or, you may right-click on an empty place on the taskbar and then go to Taskbar settings thus method. Then proceed with steps 3 and 4 from above.
Once you have done the steps, your missing date icon will be reappeared again.
Method 3: Configure the Date and Time to the default Format
There may be the absence of a date icon because the date and time formats you’ve selected aren’t supported by our Windows. You can fix the calendar symbol by setting the time and date back to their proper settings.
Step 1: Enter the Windows Control Panel by typing “Control panel” into the Windows search engine.
Step 2: Choose Clock and Region, then in Region, choose the Additional settings from the drop-down menu.
Step 3: Now, select the Time tab and then hit the Reset button to return the settings to their initial state.
Step 4: Next, navigate to the Date tab then set the values in the same manner.
Method 4: Change the Background of your Windows
Sometimes the background of your Windows will become corrupted, and when this happens, the time here on the taskbar will be invisible. Changing the background will be the only thing that can fix this issue. Follow the steps below to do this:
Step 1: First, navigate to Settings on our computer. You can simply search for it in the search engine.
Step 2: Then, once you are there, select Personalization. You can also right-click anywhere on the desktop and choose Personalize using the context menu that appears.
Step 3: Now, in this tab, go to the Background.
Step 4: Next, from many backgrounds, change the current background of our windows with a new one.
Method 5: Change the Theme
Simply changing the style of your computer’s theme is another option to try in the case when updating the wallpaper does not restore the clock. For this, simply follow the steps:
Step 1: First, go to Settings and click on Personalization.
Step 2: Then, click on Themes and select a new theme for your Windows.
Method 6: Change the color of your Taskbar to Black
If you change the accent color of your PC, there is a setting that applies it to the taskbar too. Maybe the accent color and the clock color do not sync well, thereby making it black. Thus, in order to display the clock once more, you will need to adjust a few of your customization settings and determine whether or not this has made a difference.
Step 1: To begin, select Colors under Personalization in the Settings menu.
Step 2: Then, remove the checkmark from the box that displays “Automatically pick an accent color from my background.”
Step 3: Now, scroll to the bottom of the page, and de-select the checkbox labeled “Show Color on Start, taskbar, and action center.”
Method 7: Turn off the Small Icons
The problem was caused by the settings for the little taskbar icons. Activating such a setting will reduce the size of the taskbar as well as keep hiding the date from view. Because of this, you will not be able to see the date unless you turn that off.
Step 1: First, navigate to Settings and go to the Personalization option.
Step 2: You can also right-click here on the taskbar then pick Taskbar settings from the menu that appears. In this section, uncheck the box labeled “Use small taskbar buttons.”
Method 8: Increase the Size of the Taskbar
The date can also be retrieved by increasing the size of your taskbar. First things first, check to see whether the taskbar is protected in any way. If it is locked, you will not be able to adjust its size of it in any way.
Simply right-clicking the taskbar will allow you to access its hidden functionality. Uncheck the box next to the “Lock the taskbar” item in the window that opens. Proceed to the following step if it hasn’t been checked previously.
Step 1: First, you need to move the pointer to the very top of its taskbar. You will see that it transforms into an indicator that points in both directions.
Step 2: Now, in this case, you can adjust the size of the taskbar by clicking and holding the left portion of your mouse, then dragging it upwards. When you do that, the date will be added under the current time.
Conclusion
The missing date symbol is not a significant problem, however, it is an annoying one. There are still a lot of possible causes for why these icons have vanished from the taskbar; however, there are also a lot of possible methods, which have been described above; hopefully, those methods will work for you.
