In the entire article, I will disclose all possible fixes. You can try them to access the desired device on your PC.

In general, whenever you try to connect a device through wireless or ethernet, the error is prompt on the screen. Some issues are having behind the error. I will disclose all of them one by one with the solution. Before diving in the deep, let have a check the fixes list-

Fix1: Check the Device Compatibility

If the device is compatible with Windows, you can follow the next fix.

Fix 2: Troubleshooting

Next, you can apply troubleshooting to find out the problem accurately. To do that, you need to follow the process step by step-

Step 1

Firstly, you may have to press the Windows and ‘I’ key together to enter into ‘Settings’. You will find the ‘Update & Security’ at bottom of the ‘Settings’.

Step 2

Here, you will see the ‘Troubleshoot’ section on the left bar. You have to work with the section.

Step 3

While clicking on the ‘Troubleshoot’, a couple of actionable options will appear in the right sidebar. You will see the ‘Additional troubleshooters’ option here.

Step 4

After clicking on the ‘Additional troubleshooters’ option, an interface with several functions will come on the computer screen. You have to scroll down. Then You will find the Network Adapter under the ‘Find and Fix other problems’ section.

Step 5

There will be only one command option- ‘Run the troubleshooter’. You have to click on it.

Step 6

Then, you need to click on the ‘Run the troubleshooter’, wherein you have to select an adapter to diagnose it. Here I would recommend you to select ‘All network adapters’. After that, your pc will troubleshoot.  

Step 7

Then you have to wait for a moment to complete the process. Windows will give you a diagnosis report. You need to solve the finding issues.

Fix 3: Allow PC to Discover The Device

It can be something like this that the PC cannot discover the device somehow. If so, you need to work with the issue. By following the process described below, you will allow the PC to discover the device functionally.

Step 1

Press the Windows and the ‘I’ key together to enter into the ‘Settings’. You can also get the entrance of settings from the start menu. Here, you will find the ‘Network & Internet’ section inside the ‘Settings’.

Step 2

There will be several options appearing in the left bar. ‘Wifi’ and ‘Ethernet’ would be two of them. You have to work with them individually according to your network connection.

Step 3

While clicking on the network (wifi or ethernet), ‘Network Profile’ will appear on the interface.

Step 4

Here, you need to select the ‘Private’ option instead of ‘Public’. It will allow your PC to discover the printer or other devices you set up.

Step 5

Finally, you would restart your computer and check that does it work or not. If the answer is not, then you may try the next fix.

Fix 4: Update the Driver

Update the device driver can be another possible fix if Windows doesn’t have a network profile for your devices. The process will describe below-

Step 1

Here, you would right-click on the ‘Start’ menu. As a result, ‘Device Manager’ option will appear in the middle of the bar. You need to enter inside it.

Step 2

Here, you will find the ‘Network adapters’ section. You have to expand the section by clicking on the arrow sign.

Step 3

Then you have to right-click on the device. You will find an ‘update driver’ option here. After selecting, the update will complete within a short period.

Step 4

After completing the update, you would restart your PC and check whether the device works or not. If it doesn’t work, you will still have an option in hand.

Fix 5: Change SNMP Setting

Changing the SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) setting can be another option to fix the network issue. The abbreviation of SNMP is Simple Network Management Protocol. There are some steps to follow-

Step 1

Firstly, you need to get access to the service manager. To do that, you would press the Windows and ‘R’ together. As a result, the ‘Run’ will appear on the screen. You have to type ‘services.msc’ command in the open box and press the ‘Ok’.

Step 2

In this step, you need to find the ‘SNMP’. You will find it by scrolling down. In general, the category is lined up based on the alphabet sequence.  

After finding it, you would right-click on it. As a result, ‘SNMP Trap Properties’ will appear on the screen.

Step 3

Here, you have to change the ‘Startup type’ into ‘Automatic’ from ‘Manual’. Then you need to select ‘Apply’ first and press ‘Ok’ at the end.

If the problem fixed, it will be great. But if not, you need to follow an extra step.

Extra

Here, you have to uncheck the ‘SNMP Status Enabled’. You would follow the steps- Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers. Then you have to right-click on a device like a printer. Here you will see the ‘Printer properties’.

A printer settings interface will appear. You need to select the ‘Ports’ on the upper bar. Then you have to select the ‘Configure Port’ from the lower part of the ‘Port’. Finally, the ‘SNMP Status Enabled’ option will appear. You have to uncheck the box. Most probably, it will work then.
