You are not alone. Many other users also face the error. And you know, you have come to the right place. In the entire article, I am going to unveil some easy fixes of such type error. 

What to do if Alert TPM Device is Not Detected

We have a couple of fixes in hand to solve the issue. Before diving into the details, let’s remember the basics about TPM first.

TPM stands for Trusted Platform Module. It is a specialized safety chip securing the hardware through integrated cryptographic keys. Basically, TPM consumes all passwords, security-related info, etc.

From here, I will explore all possible fixes in detail.  

Fix 1: Disconnect the Battery

Many times, disconnecting the motherboard battery or laptop power cell can solve the issue automatically. You can do it by yourself according to the following steps.

Step 1

Firstly, you have to turn off your PC and remove the plug from the power cord.

Step 2

Then, open the CPU casing.

Step 3

Next, find out the tiny battery. You will find it on the motherboard.

Step 4

Now, you have to displace the battery from the PC. Then leave your PC without a battery for a couple of minutes.

Step 5

After a while, let the battery to the right place on the motherboard and inject the power again.

Alternate Step

If you are a laptop user, you have to remove the power cell battery from the backside.

Finally, press the power button. And check, is the TPM device was detected or not? If the hardware fix does not work, you have to change some internal settings of the software system.

Fix 2: Enable TPM from BIOS

From this fix, you have to work with software systems and settings. The first thing you can do is enable TPM from BIOS. To do that, you need to follow the below direction.

Step 1

Open the computer and get access to the startup menu.

Step 2

Tap the ‘Security’ tab. Consequently, you will find the ‘TPM state’. You can enable it from here.

If you can’t solve the issue even applying the fix, you need to move on to the next.

Fix 3: Update BIOS Firmware

The issue may fix simply by updating BIOS firmware. You can conduct the firmware update according to the following process.

Step 1

Firstly, you need to visit the official website to download Dell’s drivers. While visiting, you need to find the ‘Download & Install SupportAssist’ option. Once see, tap on it.

Step 2

After downloading the ‘Support Assist’, follow the on-screen direction. Once the utility becomes active, it will detect any outdated driver automatically.

Step 3

If the ‘Support Assist’ utility detects any BIOS firmware update, you need to work with that. Here, you have to download the update.

Step 4

Lastly, you have to install the update by following the on-screen prompts. Finally, you need to reboot your PC and check, is TPM detected or not?

Fix 4: Rollback BIOS in Dell Laptop

The problem can hide behind the updated BIOS too. Here you have to roll back BIOS. You can do it by applying the described process step by step.

Step 1

Firstly, you need to power off the PC.

Step 2

Hold the ‘ctrl’ & ‘Esc’ keys together. At the same time, power on the computer and tap the ‘Power’ button.

Step 3

After the PC boots up, you have to stop pressing any key. Consequently, ‘Bios Recovery Options’ will appear on the screen. You will find the ‘Rollback BIOS’ option under it. While finding, mark the option. In the end, the system will restart automatically.

Fix 5: Reinstall the TPM Device

The last thing you can try is to reinstall the TPM device. Trust me, the process is easy to apply. I exclude it step by step here.

Step 1

Firstly, press the Windows and ‘X’ keys together. Then you have to click on ‘Device Manager’.

Step 2

While the Device Manager interface will appear, you have to expand the ‘Security devices’ section. Here you will find the ‘Trusted Platform Module 1.2’ option.

Step 3

Next, right-click on the ‘Trusted Platform Module 1.2’ and choose ‘Uninstall device’.

Step 4

After completing the uninstall process, you have to restart the PC and let Windows reinstall the TPM device automatically.

Final Words
